Georgie had travelled two long days to get to this tiny, horrible town. Georgie had left her family, she had left her friend, and she had left her home. She had made a decision, and if there was only a singular important fact about Georgie, it was that she was stubborn.
There was a time when Greogorio was very little, and Mama had sent him to a school down in the town center of Xalé. As an eccentric little boy, none of the other students liked him, and they would pick on Gregorio for his clothes and country attitude. That was the first time Georgie had stood up to a bully. She saw them pushing him around after school, she took a deep breath, and she did something about it.
So Georgie sat, listening to this grouchy old man, and she had had enough. She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and she did something about it.
